We Solve Murders by Richard Osman

Honestly, I think I enjoy this motley crew even more than the Thursday Murder Club. The relationship between Amy and her father-in-law Steve is unusual but believable. Rosie rounds out the main cast, adding a bit of chaos and comic relief.

I’ve criticised the Thursday Murder Club for dealing too much with smuggling and espionage instead of sticking to murders. We Solve Murders goes deeply into that world too, but it just works better. Amy, with her job as a bodyguard, and her firm representing a few dodgy clients, just fits more naturally into that environment.

In the Acknowledgements section, Osman mentions that We Solve Murders is set in the same universe as Thursday Murder Club. I’d love to see a crossover, as long as it’s not forced.
